Located in the heart of New York’s diamond district, Rive Gauche Jewelry was founded on the idea that a piece of jewelry is not just an accessory but a declaration of identity. Each item in our collection of estate, antique, and fine jewelry tells a story and is entirely unique, evoking a sense of discovery in the individual who wears it.

Rive Gauche Jewelry carries on the longstanding values of the multi-generational Oltuski Family, renowned for their integrity within the jewelry trade in Manhattan’s Diamond District and at international trade-shows. Founded by Jack Oltuski in the early sixties, the dignified spirit of Oltuski Brothers Inc. continued under the leadership of his two sons Steven (GIA) and Paul (DGemG), both experts in antique watches and the diamond trade. The story of the company's early years was published by Simon & Schuster, and Jack's entrepreneurial saga was recently captured in the New York Times by Romy Oltuski, his grand daughter. Ilona Oltuski, founder and curator of Rive Gauche Jewelry, added to the company her penchant for rare antique, one of a kind jewels, and designer pieces. During her travels in Europe in the 1970’s, she began her collection of rare Art Deco and Art Nouveau objects from flea markets and galleries. While completing her PhD in Art History in the 80’s, she began designing her own jewelry, inspired by the bold sense of self-expression of that decade. In Rive Gauche Jewelry, we combine both passions for antiques and for original designs, embodying the distinct taste of our clients. Our limited edition “RGJ Original” collection designed in house by Ilona is inspired by her travels and art studies. We carry the traditions of the family business, building long-standing relationships with our clients and are committed to helping you find the perfect piece for all occasions.
