Harlequin Black Opal Victorian Diamond Gold Ring, circa 1880
Absolutely unique Victorian black opal and diamond ring featuring an elongated cabochon opal measuring 13.65 x 6.77 x 3.12 mm. This vibrant black opal exhibits all the colors of the rainbow, form blue, green, orange and especially an incredible amount of red. The exceptionally well defined patches of color as in this black opal are called Harlequin, one of the rarest types of black opal and these were mainly mined in Australia. Embellishing this rare gem are 18 bright, white and sparkly Old European cut diamonds.
This original period ring is a true and rare collectible, an absolute must have. The ring is accompanied by a report from the GIA stating that the black opal is natural and untreated.
