About Rive Gauche
Located in the heart of New York’s diamond district, Rive Gauche Jewelry was founded on the idea that a piece of jewelry is not just an accessory but a declaration of identity. Each item in our collection of estate, antique, and fine jewelry tells a story and is entirely unique, evoking a sense of discovery in the woman who wears it.
Having grown up and studied art in Germany, Rive Gauche Jewelry founder and curator Ilona Oltuski first began collecting art and jewelry in the 1970s, unearthing rare Art Deco and Art Nouveau glass at flea markets and galleries throughout Europe.
While completing her PhD in art history in the 80s, she began designing her own jewelry inspired by the bold sense of self-expression of the same decade.
In Germany, she met her husband, Paul Oltuski, then a GIA-certified diamond grader and importer, and together they brought Oltuski Bros Inc. to New York, where it became one of New York’s Jewelry district’s premiere dealerships for diamonds and estate jewelry.
Thirty years later, Ilona founded Rive Gauche Jewelry, a boutique collection of singular pieces representing her distinct taste and eye for originality. In addition to the rare antique and designer pieces she creates limited edition original pieces inspired by her travels and art studies.
At Rive Gauche Jewelry, we believe in building good-standing relationships with our clients, and are committed to helping you find the perfect piece for all occasions. From the subtly sophisticated pair of earrings to the bold, avant-garde necklace, all of our jewelry is one-of-a-kind and has been thoroughly inspected by our team of experts for quality assurance. This year we are very happy to have been awarded !
