About the owner
Having lived and studied art in Germany, Ilona Oltuski began her first art collection with Art Deco and Art Nouveau glass found at flea markets and galleries throughout Europe.
She received her doctorate in art history from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, and during that time began to design jewelry inspired by the same period.
In Frankfurt, she met her husband, Paul Oltuski, who at the time was a diamond grader and importer.
Together, they brought Oltuski Bros.Inc. to New York in 1984, where it became one of 47th Street’s premiere dealerships for whole sale diamonds-and estate jewelry.
Thirty years later, it was a natural progression for Ilona to curate a collection of her own – Rive Gauche. The carefully selected boutique collection of individual pieces represents her own distinct taste and consists of always changing, one-of- a- kind pieces of the highest quality.
